报告摘要：China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has drawn a lot of attention in the world for its infrastructure investment in BR countries and its impacts on sustainable development in participating countries. Although Australia is not one of the BR countries, at the end of 2018, Victoria has become the first state to pledge to sign up to the BRI to join China’s global trade and economic activities. This report examines the innovation for sustainable tourism of outbound Chinese to the popular Southeast Asian countries and Australia and it predominantly explores how Australia’s tourism sector benefits from the BRI effects and the booming outbound Chinese tourism industry. The authors consider what actions should be taken to attract more Chinese tourists to Australia and how to maintain the sustainable tourism of Chinese market in Australia and what challenges and opportunities are faced while promoting Chinese tourism to Australia in a more sustainable way.
报告人简介: 郭秀梅博士现任科廷大学可持续发展研究所高级研究员，博士生导师；曾任莫道克大学可持续发展与技术政策研究所研究员。主要研究领域为可持续发展政策，已编辑并出版专著一本，在Journal of Cleaner Production，Environment, Development and Sustainability等国内外期刊发表了75篇以上的学术论文。
