Professor Zhaohan Sheng has been engaged in research and teaching for more than 35 years in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management. He is recognized leader in Megaproject management in China. He has been awarded the title of “National Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions”. After serving at Southeast University as Dean of Economics and Management School, Dean of Graduate School, and the Vice President of Southeast University, he founded Engineering and Management School at Nanjing University where he served as the first Dean of the school.
At present, Professor Sheng is the honorary Dean of Engineering and Management School at Nanjing University, director of the Center of Computational Experiment in Social Science in Nanjing University, President of Jiangsu Institute of System Science, member of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars Review Committee, expert consultant of Science and Technology Award by the Ministry of Education, advisory member of Management Division in National Natural Science Foundation Committee, head of Collaborative Group of National Master of Engineering Education in Logistics Engineering. He is a guest professor and advisor at more than 20 universities.
Professor Sheng has been awarded a number of major grants as principal investigator such as the Key Project in the National Science and Technology Pillar Program, the Key Project of National Social Science Foundation of China, the Major Program, Key Program and General Programs of National Nature Science Foundation of China. In addition, he has been in charge of consulting and research projects regarding mega project management in recent years.
Professor Sheng is the recipient of several science and technology prizes for his outstanding research achievements in the area of theory and applications of megaproject management in China. His academic output includes more than 100 academic papers and 20 books. He has supervised approximately 100 Postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, and more than 100 Master students.
